Links of interest

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/312629/EN-US/ - Response.Redirect and Server.Transfer. Very important to know. Old styled Response.Redirect, Server.Transfer - they all call Response.End which throws the ThreadAbortException. That is the nastiest way how to end the page and may cause the ASP.NET process failure.
http://blogs.msdn.com/david.wang/archive/2006/03/16/Have-you-seen-a-WebEngine-dll-crash-with-ASPNet-20.aspx - If the first link doesn't persuade you to avoid use of ThreadAbortException causing redirection techniques, you may need this link, in addition to WinDbg, DebugDiag, core debugging books, blogs and few days. Some experience can be only lived they say :):).
